The issue

The collapse in Venezuela has been a long time coming. Political instability, breakdown and fragmentation of the State, social violence, failure of development policies, the collapse of the formal economy, social inequalities and underlying poverty, has plunged the country into a complex humanitarian crisis. More than 5 million people have been forced to flee. The desperate situation in Venezuela has been made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The spread of COVID-19 is having a major impact on people, communities, and education systems. A huge number of the already-struggling population have lost their income and means to obtain food.

Your support is critical:

With your contribution we will ensure:
- Significantly improve the nutritional and food intake of students and families of the Madre Alberta Giménez School from Fe y Alegría. It is located in Cumaná, Sucre State, one of the poorest areas in Venezuela.
- Help maintain the community spirit around the Fe y Alegria school. Having enough to eat will help ensure students can focus and be ready to learn.

Our

Without our amazing partners and supporters, KCA wouldn't be able to make this possible.

ALSI’s Foundation mission is to channel resources and wills aimed at supporting education, health, food and the generation of opportunities for the most vulnerable children and youth in Venezuela, impacting the quality of life of beneficiaries and training comprehensive citizens of good for our society.

For a Brighter Venezuela (FABV) began its journey in 2017 with the aim to help with the education and nutritional needs of children in Venezuela. Their mission is to promote new generations in Venezuela through the support of local experienced organizations.

Fe y Alegria: Founded 65 years ago by the Jesuit Father Jose María Vélaz S.J. in Caracas, Venezuela, Fe y Alegría is a well-renowned organization that provides comprehensive education and community development programs. Fe y Alegría has a presence in 22 countries in Latin America, Europe and Africa. In Venezuela, more than 200,000 people, including children, youth and adults, are served at 454 establishments located in small towns and cities across the country. With the deepening of the crisis in Venezuela and seeing that students were missing classes or were not performing well due to lack of food, in 2016 Fe y Alegría launched its Food Security Program. The objective of the program is to create the necessary conditions to incentivize students to remain in the educational system with real possibilities of learning, basic nutrition, health and other basic care.
